In 2005, Josh went on a round-the-world-trip with his best friend from high school, taking in the UK and the US.
It did not go well…
Somewhere between not contacting his parents or potentially pregnant ex-girlfriend for nearly 3 weeks; destroying the museums of London; telling US Border Control a toy kangaroo was loaded with illicit drugs; sexually assaulting a model of Jodie Foster in Madam Tussaud’s New York wax museum; drop-kicking a family cat on Christmas Day in Louisiana, and trying to buy lock picks in San Fransisco – he did not leave a great impression on old Britannia; the Land of the Free nearly put him on a no-fly list; and the cats of the world formed a multinational task-force to hunt him down and murder him with furballs in his sleep.
Now, in the spirit of what Hilary Clinton would call an apology tour, Josh intends to right past wrongs – undoubtedly doing more damage to his personal relations in the process. First he returns to Perth, Western Australia – to apologise to his family, school friends, university friends, and anyone else he told to burn in the 6th circle of hell when he first left in June 2009. By pure coincidence, he’ll be back to perform at the Perth International Comedy Festival. By less of a coincidence, his best friend is flying out of Perth to remain on the opposite side of the planet for when Josh goes to his 10 year high school reunion on May 19th…
Then it’s onto the US, where he’ll bring his special kind of crazy to the American west coast – abusing people on-stage wearing a giant koala suit and re-enacting Eddie Murphy’s classic “Coming to America” as a schizophrenic black prince trying to find a wife, only in L.A and a lot poorer.
Perth International Comedy Festival – May 2nd to May 20th
Apocalypse Meow - Thursday May 10th, starting 7:15pm at The Daily Planet (634 Beaufort Street, Mount Lawley)

Josh returns to Perth for a trip down the cataclysmic yellow-brick road, performing his debut solo show from the 2011 Edinburgh Fringe festival as part of “The Daily Planet Sessions”. Expect Mayans, extinction-level events, possessed ex-girlfriends, the very hungry caterpillar, and possibly the creepiest baboon puppet to ever appear on stage. Doomsday shouldn’t be this much fun.
Outstanding! Comedy Perth - May 7th & 14th, starting 8pm at The Balmoral Hotel (901 Albany Hwy, East Victoria Park)
Shapiro Tuesday’s – May 8th (MCing) & 15th, starting 8:30pm in Lazy Susan’s Comedy Den (upstairs at the Brisbane Hotel, 292 Beaufort Street, Highgate)
Carey Baptist College’s “1998-2002 Pioneer’s” 10-Year Reunion – May 19th, starting 7pm at the C.Y. O’Conner (623 Warton Road, Piara Waters)
Note from Josh: this is less a “comedy” event, and more a spectacle future generations will tell their children about only in hushed tones
Many, many more gigs to be confirmed – keep an eye out for future updates here and on the “Upcoming Gigs” page
The US Relations Tour – May 22nd to June 16th
Josh will be performing in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Portland and Seattle as part of a weak attempt to right some of the wrongs he’s done to the American people over the last decade. Keith the Anger Management Koala will be joining him on his journey up the west coast. Okay so one of them is only 30 minutes long and the other is meant to be unscripted – sue me.
More details to be announced in coming weeks.
Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2012 - August 3rd to August 27th
“Keith Looks Back In Anger” – Heroes of Alternative Comedy (Part of Laughing Horse’s Free Festival)
@1:45pm every day in the Little Cave, The Hive (15-17 Niddry Street, EH1 1LG)
Sometimes, life gets the better of us. When life started to get the better of Keith the Koala, he snapped and tried to eat a parking attendant’s face. And after a tragic incident that ended with a giant panda being admitted to A&E, the judge decided Keith’s best chance at rehabilitation was to put him in court-ordered anger management. Come and help Keith complete his on-going community service, joining him on the road to self-control as he presents what he’s learnt so far.
