News – Scheduling ROCKS!
So by the time you read this I’ll already be in Edinburgh for the Fringe Festival. And by “in” Edinburgh, I mean camping illegally in Holyrood Park in the middle of fucking Edinburgh – being a goddamn covert-op comedian for 4 days hiding out in the forest at night, cooking everything on a solid fuel stove, and taking in the chaos of the Fringe during the day. Oh, and if you start to hear reports of an Orangutan-like “Duddingston Loch Monster” don’t be alarmed – I need to wash somewhere too.
Why am I doing this you may ask? Because it’ll both my birthday and the Fringe Festival ofcourse!
As a matter of fact by the time this is scheduled to post (much love, WordPress), I’ll be in Edinburgh celebrating the start of when – for exactly 9 glorious months each year – I’m only 15 years younger than Tina Fey. 9 months, Tina – just think about it, that’s how long it takes to make a baby. It’s also the day when Robert DeNiro ends his annual 3 months of joy at only being 15 years older than Tina Fey. And if you’re sitting in your car during peak-hour trying to work the last 3 sentences out, take some comfort in knowing I’ll probably be enjoying the start of my birthday in a hot air balloon on a crispy Scottish morning at the same time – hope that makes your daily drive just that little bit easier.
Unfortunately due to the absurd number of people in Edinburgh for the fringe though, accomodation is non-existent – hence the swamp creature style existence. Lining up some stand-up gigs in Edinburgh, so with any luck I’ll get a chance on stage to discuss dwarven dating protocols from Lord of the Rings, and also why fat girls should smoke. In the mean time the links page has been updated with some shameless self-promotion, a new “Menstrual Monday” is scheduled to post about 10 mins after this, and hopefully another in our “College of Awesome” series will be ready for Wednesday – provided I have time and WordPress loves me. Should be back in time before the following week’s posts.
